Bedwas RFC look ahead to 2018/19 season

With the 2018/19 Principality Premiership campaign fast approaching, Bedwas RFC are looking for new sponsorship opportunities with the local area.

With relegation returning to the Premiership, the league is expected to be more competitive than ever before, with relegation to the Championship a genuine risk for many clubs.

Since winning promotion to the Principality Premiership, the Bridgemen have punched above their weight, routinely challenging toward the top of the league and winning the Fosters Challenge Cup in 2017.

In a year’s time, the Premiership will be cut from 16 teams to 12, meaning this season’s battle at the bottom of the league will be fought with major consequences.

A spokesman for the club said: “As ever, Bedwas’ success on the pitch relies on engagement with our partners and sponsors. Our sponsors help to put Bedwas, a small ex-mining village, on the map across Wales and beyond.

“We are looking for new sponsors to join us in the most exciting season to date, where plans are being put in place to raise the profile of the club and its players like never before.”

As well as remaining in Welsh club rugby’s premier competition, the club’s other major priorities include improving its rugby pathway and retaining young players that are moving up into the ranks of senior rugby following the reintroduction of a seconds team.

Local businesses interested in joining Bedwas RFC are asked to contact Lela Brewin, the club’s Commercial Rugby Manager, on 07969364042 or lela.brewin@googlemail.com.
