Libraries in Caerphilly County Borough are set to reopen to the public from May 4.
Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Newbridge, Rhymney, Risca and Ystrad Mynach libraries will reopen for residents wanting to use computers, photocopiers, printers and wifi.
A booking system will be in place for residents to arrange 45-minute time slots to visit the libraries, which have been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, Caerphilly County Borough Council said: “We know many of you have missed visiting our community spaces. However, customer and staff safety remains our top priority, therefore a number of measures are now in place to ensure your visit to your library is a comfortable and safe experience.
“Returning to your local library will mean we all have to do things a little differently to help protect each other. Please be reassured that our team will be on hand to support you.
“Your experience at the library will be different to what you’re used to and our libraries will be limiting the number of computer users at each site.”
Library visitors have been asked to wear a face covering or visor, follow social distancing rules and to use the hand sanitiser provided, as well as fill out contract tracing forms.
The council have also asked library visitors not to disrespect library staff, and to stay away if feeling unwell or showing symptoms of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, all libraries in the borough will resume the ‘Order and Collect’ service from Tuesday, April 6, which allows residents to request books to borrow.
