Appeal after man struck on the head with a bottle in Caerphilly town

Gwent Police would like to speak with this man in connection with the assault

A witness appeal has been issued by Gwent Police after a man was hit on the head with a bottle in Caerphilly town.

The attack happened at around 2.30pm on Monday, January 10 outside the Malcolm Uphill pub on Cardiff Road.

Police said the victim suffered a minor wound to the back of his head and was told to go to hospital as a precaution.

The attacker is described as a white man, of slim to medium build, around 1.7m (5ft 7in) tall, aged between 30 and 40 with short brown hair.

Gwent Police have released an image of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the alleged assault.

It has appealed for any witnesses or anyone who may have video footage to come forward quoting log reference 2200009865.
