An animal charity campaign bringing Snoopy sculptures to Caerphilly is set to get underway.
Six statues, inspired by the iconic Peanuts comic strip character Snoopy, will appear in and around Caerphilly town centre on Friday, April 8, marking the start of Dogs Trust’s Snoopy Trail, which will run until June 5.
They will be located at Caerphilly railway station, Cardiff Road, Dafydd Williams Park, Crescent Road, Morgan Jones Park and Castle Court Shopping Centre.
Each sculpture will be sponsored by a business or individual and will be auctioned after the campaign to raise further funds for Dog’s Trust.
However, numerous mini statues decorated by school children from across Caerphilly County Borough will start appearing in town from Wednesday, March 30.
The sculptures were decorated with artwork depicting the children’s local communities, as well as themes of inclusivity, diversity and protecting the environment.

Sharon Pacoe, headteacher at Fochriw Primary, said: “The project is a magical opportunity to celebrate each school’s ingenuity, driven by our enterprising creative pupils whilst supporting a good cause.”
Mrs Pascoe said it was an “honour” to have the school’s Snoopy displayed.
There will also be Snoopy sculptures in Cardiff and Porthcawl.
