Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to Ystrad Mynach in 2014

For those wanting to pay their respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II, books of condolences are dotted around Caerphilly county borough.

The UK has entered national mourning following the monarch’s death – this is a period of reflection following the demise of a Sovereign, and can include laying flowers or signing books of condolences.

Residents can go to Ty Penallta, Blackwood Miners Institute and Caerphilly Visitors Centre to sign.

  • Ty Penallta: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm.
  • Blackwood Miners Institute: Monday – Friday, 9am until 9pm and Saturday 9am until 2.30pm.
  • Caerphilly Visitors Centre: Every day from 10am to 5pm.

An online book of condolences is available on the Royal Family’s website, while libraries will also have books to sign.
