Gerwyn Price will be guaranteed top spot in the Premier League Darts table if he reaches the Night 16 final in Aberdeen on Thursday night.
Price, from Markham, currently sits top of the standings, three points ahead of second-place Michael Smith.
Price had the chance to seal top spot at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena on May 11, but was beaten by Smith in the final in what was the reigning world champion’s third consecutive Premier League win.
It also marked Price’s eighth Premier League final of the year, having registered wins in in Cardiff, Nottingham, Newcastle and Brighton.
He will seal top spot in the league phase ahead of the play-offs if he can reach his ninth final of the year in Scotland this week.
Standing in his way will be Scotsman Peter Wright, who Price faces in the quarter-final stage.
If he can progress, Price will take on either Nathan Aspinall or fellow-Welshman Jonny Clayton – both of which are fighting for the last remaining play-off place – in the semi-finals.
Price has already booked his place in the play-offs, which will be played at London’s London’s O2 Arena on May 25. He will be joined the already-qualified Smith and Michael Van Gerwen and Michael Smith, as well as one of Clayton or Aspinall.
