The Red Kite pub in Caerphilly has reopened with a new look following a £130,000 investment.

To mark the refurbishment, Caerphilly Observer readers have the chance to win a £100 voucher to spend at the pub.

The Red Kite’s refresh has seen the introduction of new wallpaper, stylish lighting, new seating, and uplifting colour palettes. With an updated bar area and investment in team training, the pub has now officially reopened with a fresh new look. 

Syd Boulton was chosen to pull the first pints at the revamped pub

The founder of Aber Valley Food Bank, and loyal local, Syd Boulton, was chosen as the pub’s community hero to pour the first pints in celebration of the pub’s reopening.

Mark Jones the General Manager of the Red Kite said: “We are so excited to open the doors of the Red Kite and to show our loyal locals the result of our refresh. We have invested £130k into breathing new life into the venue can’t wait to welcome everybody back.”

What’s on offer at the Red Kite?

The Red Kite has been treated to new décor

The Red Kite offers a varied menu of pub favourites such as steak and ale pie served with chips, garden peas and gravy and new additions such as loaded fries with spicy pulled pork, nacho cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, crispy onions and chopped chives.

There are also classic lagers on draught, cask ales and a variety of cocktails and G&Ts. The pub also offers a traditional Sunday Roast each week, all served with fluffy mashed potato, roast potatoes, seasonal veggies, home-made Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy.

Guests can also enjoy a new mid-week offer of a main meal and a drink for £11.25. The dishes vary daily with a pie and a drink on Mondays, burger and a drink on Tuesdays, curry and a drink on Wednesdays and steak and a drink for £12.50 on Thursdays.

The Red Kite is a family-friendly pub with a covered outdoor area which allows guests to drink and dine alfresco. The new look is set to elevate the pub’s interior to suit all occasions, from casual lunches to special celebrations.
