Proceeds from the album will go to Velindre Cancer Centre

A Caerphilly band is releasing its debut album 20 years after forming – with all the proceeds going to charity.

COALDUST was formed in the summer of 2003 by three best friends from Abertridwr.

The band has now released its first album, Forgotten Memories, with all money from sales going to Velindre Cancer Centre.

Original band members Geraint Morgan, Robert Bunce and David Hale formed the alternative rock group at just 18 and 16-years-old.

The band played shows in Prague and Caerphilly Castle before other members, Mike Bullen and Nicky Edmunds, had tenures in the band before splitting in 2007 due to family responsibilities.

“It was 100% the right call and we always said if we couldn’t do it together as friends, we would call it a day. COALDUST died that day“ said frontman Geraint Morgan.

Geraint Morgan is the band’s frontman

Now, COALDUST has revisited its back catalogue and has finally put out its debut album.

Pre-Orders for “Forgotten Memories” are available at coaldust.bandcamp.com with the full album being released on August 26.

The covers band, Best Served Chilled, which features three of COALDUST’s band members, will headline Megaday at Caerphilly RFC’s Virginia Park on August 27.
