Ty Hafan family fun day postponed due to poor weather forecast

Ty Hafan’s annual family fun day, which was set to be held on Saturday July 15, has been postponed due to poor weather.

The event, which would have had live music, food stalls, free games and activities, craft making and more, is now being held on Saturday September 9.

It will be held at Ty Hafan’s hospice grounds on Hayes Road, Sully.

Jenna Lewis, director of income generation for Ty Hafan, said: “The severe weather forecast includes high winds throughout the day on Saturday and as a result we simply cannot guarantee that we will be able to run this event safely.

“The safety of attendees, vendors, suppliers and volunteers must always come first. We hope that everyone will accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience our decision to postpone this event may cause.”

People who have bought tickets for July 15 will be able to use the same tickets for the new date, as the tickets will still be valid.

For those who bought tickets but are unable to attend the rescheduled date, Ty Hafan has said it will be happy to refund their tickets.

Anyone who wants to donate the cost of their ticket to Ty Hafan can do so by contacting  supportercare@tyhafan.org.

Ms Lewis added: “We are extremely grateful to all organisations and individuals involved in the event preparation, including those who had booked to attend the event as a vendor, attendees and volunteers at this key event in our calendar. 

“We hope that as many of them as possible will be able to join us on Saturday September 9 and we thank everyone for their cooperation and continued support.”

For Ty Hafan to provide the vital care and support, it costs £5.2m a year – with a huge chunk of that sum coming from public donations.
