A car has been set on fire in Rhymney

A car was deliberately set on fire in Rhymney, Gwent Police has confirmed.

The car fire was reported in the early hours of this morning, Friday September 8.

A spokesperson from Gwent Police told Caerphilly Observer: “We received a report of a car fire in Victoria Road, Rhymney, at around 3.40am.

“The cause is the fire is believed to be deliberate.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, can call 101 or send us a direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2300303081.

“You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously with details on 0800 555 111.”

This comes after a spate of antisocial behaviour in Rhymney which saw three dispersal orders imposed in the town within a two-week span in August.

“Robust” approach to anti-social behaviour so Rhymney residents have “better quality of life”
