More than £275,000 worth of business support is being offered to companies and entrepreneurs across Caerphilly County Borough.
Caerphilly-based co-working spaces Welsh ICE and TownSq will work together as part of the programme, which will run throughout 2024.
The programme, funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, will run events and support designed to help local start-ups and freelancers.
This will include workshops, training, and one-on-one support on topics such as marketing, financial planning and customer engagement – as well as expos and networking events to give businesses the chance to showcase their products and services.
As part of the programme, TownSq – which runs several co-working spaces across Wales and England – will set up a number of co-working venues for freelancers and small businesses in the borough.
TownSq’s commercial director, Kevin Mansell-Abell, said Caerphilly has a “long-standing history of fostering new and exciting businesses”.
He continued: “We’ve learnt so much by supporting small businesses across the UK, but we’ve always kept our HQ in Caerphilly.
“We know the talent and potential that’s here because we’ve been a part of it for over a decade, and so it’s special for us that, alongside our partners, we will be working to deliver support across our home region again.”
Welsh ICE’s chief executive, Lesley Williams, said the range of support on offer means there will be “something for everyone”.

She said: “This programme was designed with the ambition of offering more support opportunities across local high streets, helping boost businesses to the benefit of locals and tourists alike.
“There’s something for everyone, be it an individual starting up for the first time, or a more established business looking to grow.”
More information on the events and the support will be made available in the coming months. Visit TownSq‘s website for more information or to register for events and support.
