Man, 20, killed in crash on A469 near Llanbradach

Gwent Police were called to the bridge earlier today

A 20-year-old man from Pontllanfraith has been killed in a car crash on the A469 near Llanbradach.

Police want to speak to motorists travelling on the road around the time of the crash, which happened at around 6.20pm today, Friday December 15.

The victim, who was a passenger travelling in a white Mazda, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old also from Pontllanfraith, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs. He remains in police custody.
