Cardiff Queen Street

Rhymney Valley and Ebbw Valley line commuters will have to find another way to the capital, after Transport for Wales (TfW) announced no trains will pass through or stop at Cardiff Queen Street on two weekends in March.

The closure is so TfW can make “signalling and track upgrades” to the station, which is due to be electrified by the end of 2024 as part of the South Wales Metro scheme.

Brand new tram-trains unveiled as part of South Wales Metro project

Trains to and through Cardiff Queen Street will be replaced by a bus starting from Friday March 1, up to and including Monday March 4.

Later in the month, between Friday March 29 and Monday April 1, the same restrictions will be in place.

Normal service will resume as of Tuesday after each closure.
