One sports club and one school are set to receive a £100 voucher from the council as it looks to increase the amount of runners at this year’s Caerphilly 2k race.
The fun run is set to take place before the 10k race on Sunday May 12, and is aimed towards those of all fitness levels.
To get more runners signed-up, Caerphilly County Borough Council is offering a financial incentive to a school and a sports club with the highest number of entrants.
Cllr Chris Morgan, cabinet member for leisure, said: “We are thrilled to introduce this exciting incentive to further encourage participation in the Caerphilly 2k event.
“By incentivising schools and sports clubs, we aim to foster a spirit of healthy competition and inspire individuals of all ages to embrace physical activity as part of their daily routine.”
To be eligible for the £100 gift voucher, schools and sports clubs are encouraged to contact the Caerphilly 10k team to receive a code that will help track entries from their institution.
Entrants must specify the school or sports club they are representing during registration to ensure their participation is counted towards the total number of entries for their respective institution.
The winning school and sports club will be determined based on the total number of registered participants from each institution.
