Family-run business to open pop-up shop at Ffos Caerffili

A family-run business selling pop culture-inspired greeting cards, badges, pins, and more will be trading at Ffos Caerffili over the next few weeks.

Bishop, Please! will open at Caerphilly’s new container-style market on Tuesday May 28.

Start-up business hub Welsh ICE, which is based on Caerphilly Business Park, has a unit at Ffos Caerffili, which it will be offering to local traders on flexible 28-day leases. The idea is to provide a stepping stone for businesses, allowing them to gauge market demand.

Bishop, Please!, which will be at the market until June 23, will be the first to occupy the unit.

Its owner, Bethan Russell, expressed her excitement about the new venture and said: “We normally trade at comic cons, so it’s nice to have a physical space for more than a weekend.

“We’re so thankful to Welsh ICE for this opportunity and to help get the word out about our quirky little business.”

The pop-up will be open between 9.30am and 2.30pm Tuesday to Friday, and from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.

It will also be open from 10am to 2pm on Sundays, but will not be open on Mondays.

“It’s particularly great to see Bishop, Please! as our first pop-up shop tenant. We’ve been working with Bethan and Adam for years and have seen them grow from strength to strength.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to support local entrepreneurs and contribute to the vibrancy of our town centre.”

Since its inception in 2012, Welsh ICE has offered a range of resources including business courses, workshops, and coworking spaces. Caerphilly Observer was based there for ten years before we moved to Caerphilly Miners Centre.

In addition to the pop-up shops, Welsh ICE plans to use Ffos Caerffili for various events, including business networking sessions and support fairs.
