‘Specialist officers’ close area as part of missing person investigation

South Wales Police (SWP) has confirmed a section of woodland in Machen was closed over the weekend as part of a search for a missing person.

As of Friday February 7, an entry to a wooded area off Rhyd y Gwern Lane was cordoned-off for the weekend.

South Wales Police confirmed to Caerphilly Observer this was part of an investigation surrounding a missing person, and that “specialist search officers” were on site.

The police cordons have since been lifted.
