Gerwyn Price congratulates Luke Humphries during their Night Four encounter

Gerwyn Price has dropped to third in the Premier League Darts standings after losing to eventual Night Four champion Luke Humphries in Exeter.

Price, from Markham, beat Humphries as he stormed to victory in Dublin last week, but there was no repeat of that on Thursday February 27.

The world number one beat Price 6-4, before edging Rob Cross in the semi-finals. He then beat Luke Littler in the final to move seven points clear of the 17-year-old at the top of the table.

Premier League Darts will be in Brighton for Night Five on Thursday March 6, with Price taking on Michael van Gerwen in his opening round game.

But before that, Price will be in action at the UK Open this weekend – with Llanbradach’s Rhys Griffin also competing at the event.
