Caerphilly County Borough is set to host the world’s largest fundraising swim this weekend, raising money for Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, and the Swimathon Foundation.
Swimmers across the borough are invited to take part in the Swimathon 2025, with three leisure centres across Caerphilly taking part between Friday March 28 and Sunday March 30.
With distances ranging from 400m to 5k, as well as team challenges, swimmers can test themselves while raising money for good causes.
Councillor Chris Morgan, cabinet member for leisure, said: “Swimathon is a fantastic event that brings people together to swim for a great cause.
“It is great to see our local leisure centres playing a key role in helping the community stay active while supporting vital charities. Whether swimming competitively or simply for enjoyment, this is an opportunity to take part in something special.”
Swimathon venues and times:
- Risca Leisure Centre – Friday March 28, 4pm – 7pm
- Heolddu Leisure Centre – Sunday March 30, 9am – 11am
- Caerphilly Leisure Centre – Sunday March 30, 5pm – 8pm
