Markham’s Gerwyn Price is back in Premier League Darts action tonight (May 22) as the competition’s league phase comes to an end in Sheffield.
Price has already booked his spot in next week’s play-offs, where he will join Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, and one of Nathan Aspinall or Michael van Gerwen at London’s O2 Arena.
How do the play-offs work?
Ranking points are awarded per night – with five to the winner, three to the runner-up and two to the semi-finalists – to form the league table from which the top four players will progress to the play-offs.
The play-offs will be played at The O2 in London on Thursday May 29, with two semi-finals and a final – with the winner crowned Premier League Darts champion.
But before that, he will take on Chris Dobey, who can no longer reach the play-offs, in his Night 16 opener in South Yorkshire.
The winner of that tie will go up against the winner of Humphries or Rob Cross later – who is also out of the running for the last remaining play-off place.
Price goes into the night looking to confirm a third-place finish following a strong campaign which has seen him pick up wins in Dublin, Nottingham and Liverpool.
