Mum’s 5st transformation from maternity wear to netball court

Hannah Louise, a loving mother of two girls from Blackwood, began her Slimming World journey when her youngest daughter Eve was just four-months-old.

It was March, and although she adored those early days of motherhood, she didn’t feel like herself.

Even simple things, like getting down on the floor at baby groups, became a struggle. Embarrassment crept in, and soon she found herself avoiding the very activities she wanted to enjoy with her daughters.

Determined to be a healthier, happier, role model for her girls – and absolutely not wanting to return to work still wearing maternity clothes – Hannah decided something had to change. And change it did.

By June, she’d already shed 2st (12.7kg) and walked back into work feeling proud and transformed.

By Christmas, she’d reached 3st (19.1kg).

And now, with the help and support of Slimming World Consultant Jemma Ford she is 5st (31.8kg) lighter and a Slim for Life target member. Hannah has recently introduced her partner Gregg and her mother to the Blackwood group. Both have since lost more than 2st and on their own journey to their target weights.

Hannah’s favourite meals, which she enjoys with her family, chicken-topped pizza, naked burrito bowl, and chunky chicken chowder. All delicious, satisfying, and totally on plan!

Today, Hannah is fitter, healthier, and more in control of her life than she’s felt in years.

With her confidence growing, she’s even joined a local netball team – a huge step that reflects just how far she’s come, both physically and emotionally enjoying a sport she never thought she’d get back into.

Her journey is a reminder that small steps can lead to incredible transformations. Hannah, is a true inspiration to everyone in group. She is an amazing role model to her girls and they are so proud of her.

Staying on track doesn’t have to feel restrictive – and Hannah proves it every week with clever planning and preparation. Weekends are where Hannah really shines though. Instead of diving into takeaway apps, she creates ‘fakeaway’ feasts that feel indulgent but fit beautifully within Slimming World’s Food Optimising – from loaded fries to curries.

To stay on track for work Monday to Friday, Hannah, a busy primary school teacher, plans ahead like a pro. Batch cooking on Sundays means her lunches are sorted, tasty and slimming-friendly every single day from rice bowls to delicious soups. It’s not magic – it’s mindset.

Hannah plans ahead, chooses mindfully, and makes the weekends exciting rather than tempting. Her approach proves that Food Optimising isn’t about restriction…it’s about a lifestyle change for her and her family.
