A series of free webinars are being held to celebrate Neurodivergent Awareness Week.
Three online events are being hosted by Caerphilly Miners Centre on Friday March 20.
A two-hour webinar celebrating neurodiversity will be held between 10am and midday.
The second session, from 1pm to 2pm, will be presented by advanced practitioner occupational therapist Natalie Shek and will focus on sensory processing and integration.
The final session, hosted by Karen Mills of AP Cymru between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, will look at masking.
What is autism?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life-long condition which can affect people in different ways.
The brain of an autistic person works differently to that of a neurotypical person (someone without autism), which can lead to people with autism experiencing difficulties socialising and communicating with other people.
Autistic people can often have intense and highly-focused interests and hobbies.
There are around 700,000 people in the UK who have autism.
Autism is not an illness or a disease.
Research carried out by the National Autistic Society found that only 16% of autistic adults in the UK are in full-time employment, while only 20% have a CV.
They also found 90% of autistic people reported having anxiety and depression and are also dealing with social isolation.
It will be followed by a screening of the film I Swear at the centre from 6pm to 8pm, with tickets available online for £6.13.
Resources for families to take away will be accessible on the day, while staff from Caerphilly County Borough Council will be around to support the event.
