An extra 500 spaces have been made available for this year’s Caerphilly 10k race due to strong demand.

Thousands had already secured their place on the start line, with the event being held on Sunday May 10, alongside the 2k race.

Now, organisers have opened more entries, giving more people the opportunity to take part – with around 3,000 set to race this year.

A new, flatter, route has been revealed for this year’s Caerphilly 10k race.

Following feedback from runners, the course has been redesigned to give a “more consistent route”, reducing elevation by 14.29% compared to 2025.

The 10k start and finish will remain on Crescent Road, but instead of heading to the top and turning left on Clive Street, this year’s race will go along Park Lane before joining Cardiff Road.

Runners will then head to Van Road, turn off at Southern Street, before joining Market Street, and then on to Pontygwindy Road.

The rest of the course remains almost unchanged, except when runners come back into Caerphilly town centre. Instead of running up Cardiff Road and going through Clive Street, as in previous years, they will return to Crescent Road via Park Lane.
