A 72-year-old man was taken to hospital with head injuries following an alleged attack in Abertridwr.

The victim, who has since been released from hospital, was attacked by four males, believed to be teenagers.

The assault is said to have happened down a side street off Church Road, between 2.30pm and 2.40pm on Monday May 11.

One of the offenders is described as bald, and was wearing a dark coloured hooded jacket or hat.

Gwent Police is investigating the incident, and launched an appeal for information on Tuesday May 26.
