South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has thanked crews from across the UK who provided aid during the recent wildfires.
Firefighters from 22 services across England and Wales travelled to the area to help local teams tackle the numerous blazes.
The deployment of national resources allowed the service to maintain a continuous response to the fires while keeping normal emergency cover in place.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Martin Ward-White thanked all those who helped during the response. He said: “The support we received from our colleagues across the UK was vital. This came on top of the help we received locally from landowners, farmers and partner agencies.
“At a time when our firefighters were facing prolonged and demanding conditions, fire and rescue services from across the UK stepped forward. Their expertise and willingness to support our communities made a significant difference.”
Non-uniformed staff and control room teams were also praised for managing the logistical demand throughout the emergency.
