Hengoed’s Bethan Dainton will captain Wales at their first-ever Women’s Rugby League World Cup campaign this autumn.
The Wigan Warriors star is included in head coach Tom Brindle’s 23-player squad for the competition, which is being played in Australia this October.
Cardiff Demons’ Amberley Ruck, from Caerphilly, is also included in the squad.
Wales begin their campaign against England in Perth on Saturday October 17, before taking on Samoa in Sydney on Friday October 23. They finish their group stage matches against reigning world champions Australia in Sydney on Sunday November 1.
