Caerphilly-based Thomas, Carroll Independent Financial Advisers, has been named best chartered financial planning company in the country.

The company won the award at the Personal Finance Society’s Chartered Awards 2009.

Mark Eedy, managing director of Thomas, Carroll IFA, said: “We are proud that a Welsh firm has become the first to win this important national title.

“Gaining chartered status is an achievement in itself, this recognition goes even further. We invest heavily in the training of our staff, and it is incredibly rewarding to be recognised on a national level for our professional standards and qualifications.

John Moore, chairman of Thomas, Carroll Group said: “In these tough economic times for the personal finance market, it is good to see that the industry is remaining positive and proactive by celebrating hard work and commitment to the pursuit of the highest professional standards.

“We will continue to invest in the growth of this important division of the group.”

This year the firm has expanded by opening West Wales and Mid Wales offices.

Its Caerphilly headquarters has also recently doubled in size.
