Trading Standards teams from Caerphilly County Borough Council, Monmouthshire County Council, Newport City Council and Torfaen County Borough Council have joined forces to help tackle rogue traders in South East Wales.
The Government-endorsed South East Wales Trustmark Scheme helps consumers find reputable businesses to carry out work inside and outside their home, by providing a list of approved traders for the South East Wales area.
Businesses who become members of the scheme undertake to operate their businesses in a legal, honest and fair way and are vetted and monitored by Trading Standards and Exor Management Services.
The team are currently looking to recruit businesses who feel they fit the required criteria, and would like to join the Trustmark scheme.
Traders that the scheme is aimed at include:
- Builders (specialist and general)
- Bedroom Specialists
- Carpenters and Joiners
- Conservatory Erectors
- Damp Proofing Specialists
- Timbers Treatment and Water Proofers
- Drain Maintenance and repairs
- Driveways and Patios
