Five Cardiff City FC fans charged with violent disorder are to have their cases heard at Crown Court.

The five fans, all from the Caerphilly County Borough area, face the charge after a clash with rival Swindon Town FC fans in July last year.

Dominic Towell, 28 of Farm Road, Caerphilly, Jordan Gurner, 19 of Glyn Collen, Llanbradach, Lee Evans, 27 of King Street Abertridwr, Michael Grainger, 22, of Brynawel, Machen, and Steven Harding, 28 of Wedgewood Court, Caerphilly, will all appear before Swindon Crown Court on April 9.

The five have yet to enter a plea during previous hearings at magistrates’ court.

Around 50 fans clashed in the Lower Bridge Street area of the town following the pre-season friendly between the two teams on July 25 last year.

Wiltshire Police, after a joint investigation with South Wales Police, arrested a total of 19 people in connection with the match day violence.

Ten were from Swindon while the remaining nine were from the South Wales area, including the five from Caerphilly.
