Free swimming in Caerphilly County Borough this Easter

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:30, Thursday April 1st, 2010.

Youngsters in Caerphilly County Borough can take advantage of free swim sessions during the Easter break, including caneoing, snorkeling and water polo, in any of the council’s pools.

Funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, the free swimming initiative gives those aged 16 and under free entry during the school holidays.

The scheme also includes free swimming sessions for over 60s.

Councillor Phil Bevan, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s cabinet member for education and leisure said: “Our local leisure centres offer a wide range of top class facilities for people of all ages and abilities.

“The whole family can get involved, so why not take advantage of the free swim sessions this Easter and find out what else is on offer to help everyone adopt a healthy, active lifestyle.”

Structured swim sessions can be booked through Nicola Green on 02920 86926.
