An electro-pop band from Caerphilly has seen their popularity sky rocket after an appearance on TV show Britain’s Got Talent.

Five-piece group Mike Fantastic now has more than 5,000 Facebook fans – a leap from 500 before the TV appearance.

The panel of TV talent show judges Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell all gave the group a yes to go through to the next round.

Ex-newspaper editor Piers Morgan told them: “We don’t get good bands and I think we may just have found one.”

While their original song of Lights Off was praised, Simon Cowell wasn’t entirely happy with the group’s overall appearance.

He said: “I thought you sounded pretty good. Where I have a problem is the ridiculous sunglasses. But I like the track.”
