A special summer business event, held recently in Bedwas, has been hailed as a resounding success.
The first ever ‘Bedwas Business Summer Garden Party’ took place at Bedwas High School.
The party was organised by the Graig-Y-Rhacca Resource Centre and sponsored by Newport Gwent Dragons, Tower Print, SET Office Supplies and Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Fast Forward.
More than 100 guests attended from local businesses and business support agencies, while the food was prepared and served by pupils from Bedwas High School.
The garden party gave local businesses an opportunity to network and also provided the young people with a chance to practice their catering skills.
Councillor Lindsay Whittle, leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “This new event is an exciting addition to the business calendar and I was delighted to be invited to open the proceedings.
“It’s great to see the business community come together to share ideas about how we can work together to strengthen our local economy and I look forward to similar events taking place in the future.”
Newport Gwent Dragons kindly donated a signed rugby shirt, which was raffled for youth projects.
The winner of the shirt was Darren Pole of Tower Print who received his prize from Newport Gwent Dragon players Aled Brew and Adam Brown.
