UPDATE: Escaped murderer arrested in the Caerphilly area

A convicted murderer with links to Caerphilly has escaped from HMP Prescoed.

Wyndham Richard Thomas, 33, was convicted for aggravated burglary and murder in 1997 and was serving a life sentence. He is not a registered sex offender. He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, medium build with a scar on the right side of his forehead.

It is believed he has contacts throughout the South Wales areas, particularly Caerphilly and Maesteg and police have said he may be a potential risk to the public.
