Trains between Bargoed and Rhymney have resumed after a landslide caused by heavy rain closed the line.
Storm rain on Wednesday night overwhelmed a culvert and caused a 5m-wide hole in a banking near Station Row, Tirphil. The landslide brought down power cables, exposed a gas main and closed the line
The railway line at Tirphil, which was expected to re-open on Monday, has now been given the all-clear by railway engineers. Service was resumed at 2pm today. Rail commuters will have to contend with a 5mph speed restriction in the area.
Arriva Trains Wales said the speed restriction will cause delays.
