Lloyd Daniels, 16, from Treharris, is hoping to go all the way in TV's X-Factor.

A former Lewis School pupil is hoping to go all the way in TV talent show X-Factor.

Lloyd Daniels, 16, from Treharris wowed the show’s judges with his rendition of R Kelly’s ‘Turn Back the Hands of Time’.

The singer was initially overcome with nerves during his audition but composed himself sufficiently to secure a place in the competition’s next round.

Judge Cheryl Cole went on to tell him: “You are the first person I’m going to say ‘You’ve got the X Factor’ to.”

As well as receiving the backing of Cheryl, Simon Cowell, Loius Walsh and Dannii Minogue, the singing sensation has also won fans in Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Councillor Phil Bevan, cabinet member for education, said: “We are all backing Lloyd to win the X-Factor and it’s great to see a former pupil excel in such a public arena.

“Lloyd first discovered his singing ability while at Lewis School, in Pengam, and he has also performed at special concerts held at the council offices to help encourage our talented youngsters to shine.

“We wish him the best of luck on his musical journey and he can count on our support as he progresses through the competition.”
