Caerphilly Youth Forum raises £500 for Velindre Cancer Care

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:30, Friday August 16th, 2013.

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Youth Forum has raised £500 for Velindre Cancer Care.

The youngsters raised the cash by washing 22 cars in one afternoon and collected for a dress-down day for Caerphilly County Borough Council staff.

Cllr Rhianon Passmore, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, said: “Congratulations to the youth forum who have raised a significant sum of money for their chosen charity. These young people are a shining example of the talented, dedicated youth who live in our borough.”

The fundraising day coincided with International Youth Day, held on August 12, which seeks to promote the welfare of young people across the world.

    Well done to them!

I can't believe some people in this area. The car wash is for charity and they still expect a wash in return for their money. When the local kids ask me, I give them some money and tell them not to wash my car. Partly due to me not wanting to feel as if I'm exploiting them but mainly because they do a terribe job, and I'd much rather take my car to my very exclusive car wash

I bet the kids are better at washing cars than you are at spelling. You are a 'terribe' speller!!

Some people will nitpick over anything. The spelling error was obviously caused by Dean missing a letter out probably in haste. Get a life roger!

When does picking people up on a typing mistake become a joke?
