Residents at Abermill Care Home in Abertridwr are used to a visitors throughout the day, but even they were unprepared for a visit from a donkey.

The donkey, from Mike’s Donkeys, in Camarthenshire, was taken around the home’s activities room where residents and local children took turns petting the four-legged friend on his recent visit.

For a number of residents, the visit brought back lots of memories.

Abermill Care Home Manager Penny Griffiths, said: “The donkey visit was a great success and everyone had such a good time. We were also really pleased that local children could join us for the visit.
