Three people arrested in connection with the murder of Trinant father Ian Davies will face no further action.
Mr Davies, 27, was attacked in Marshfield Road Trinant at around 7.30pm on January 11 and suffered a wound to his torso. He was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he later died.
Four people were arrested on suspicion of murder by Gwent Police.
Paul Mapps, 27, of Trinant, is remanded in custody after being charged with murder and is next due in court in April.
A 26-year-old local man and two local women, aged 22 and 30, have been released without charge.
