A couple from Ystrad Mynach are set to make history with the first gay wedding in Caerphilly County Borough.
The Marriage (Same Sex) Couples Act 2013 came into effect on March 13 and Caerphilly County Borough Council has taken its first Notice of Marriage.
The happy couple have become the first to give their Notice of Marriage under the new legislation in Caerphilly County Borough.
The ceremony will take place at Penallta House on Saturday March 29, which is the first day that same sex marriages can take place.
Cllr Harry Andrews, Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “I feel very proud that this couple have chosen to have their special day, on such an historic day, in Caerphilly borough.”
