News | | Published: 15:00, Tuesday April 29th, 2014.

Electrical company, JR and AG Diack Ltd, has been honoured for its employment practices by charity Chwarae Teg.

The Oakdale-based company were among 31 Welsh employers, from a broad range of industries, formally recognised as ‘Exemplar Employers’ under Chwarae Teg’s EU-backed Evolve programme.

All had undergone the Evolve programme that supports small and medium-sized businesses to develop diverse workforces, based on equality, flexibility and learning.

Richard Diack, Director of JR and AG Diack Ltd said: “We’re delighted to have gained the Exemplar Employer Award.

“As a small, family-run business providing electrical services we rely heavily on having technically-skilled staff dedicated to providing excellent customer care and on-site service.”

The Evolve Exemplar Employer Award is part of Chwarae Teg’s £12.5m European Social Fund and Welsh Government-funded Agile Nation project, and is designed to recognise businesses that have implemented progressive work practices that achieve equality and diversity.

Award winners are selected as ‘going above and beyond legal compliance’ to introduce flexible and progressive practices.
