Direct Healthcare Services boss joins board of Woundcare4Heroes

News | | Published: 17:00, Tuesday April 29th, 2014.

The managing director of Caerphilly-based Direct Healthcare Services has been appointed chairman of a specialist wound care charity.

Graham Ewart has joined the board of trustees at Welsh charity Woundcare4Heroes.

Mr Ewart said: “It’s an exciting prospect to be appointed as the new chair of Woundcare4Heroes. Direct Healthcare Services works closely with wound care specialists and it is therefore an honour to work with a charity committed to delivering the best services to wounded veterans in need.

“I am looking forward to playing a crucial role in achieving the charity’s goals.”

Woundcare4Heroes was founded in 2012 to help develop a national network of complex wound management services and raise funds for specialist NHS care facilities needed to help military veterans who require long-term wound care.

The charity’s founder and CEO, Claire Stephens, said Mr Ewart’s commercial experience will ensure it meets its financial and strategic goals.

She said: “We have built significant momentum over the past 20 months and are now in a transitional phase of becoming extremely busy setting up facilities and outreach services. The charity has fast evolved into a significantly different organisation, requiring key business skills at board level to aid our future growth and development.”
