Caerphilly County Borough Council has outlined six key priorities to follow over the coming year.
The objectives aim to focus the council’s efforts in making specific improvements to services used by residents.
The improvements include ensuring children and young people who are looked after by the authority are supported and to improve job opportunities by implementing the council’s Passport Scheme.
The council will also seek to develop an effective and accessible youth service and improve awareness, variety and use of leisure, community and sporting facilities.
Investment in council homes to “transform lives and communities” and measures to prevent homelessness wherever possible make up the key policies.
Cllr Keith Reynolds, Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “I strongly believe that these improvement objectives will help us achieve our goals in important areas such as support for looked after children, employment opportunities for young people, boosting sport and leisure and transforming our housing provision.
“We are committed to demonstrating best value while delivering quality services for our residents at all times.”
• The council has stressed equalities issues for residents and workers will continue to be addressed after the publication of their Strategic Equality Plan.
Cllr James Pritchard, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Equalities Champion, said: “The council continues to pro-actively work with partners from the public, health, voluntary and private sectors to take a creative and innovative approach to handling equalities issues.”
Say nothing at the moment is probably best.!!!!!!!!
So in other words there will be a few minor projects paraded for years and a dozen or so bodies set up, all run by councillors diseased with self importance. All will achieve nothing apart from making good content for a propaganda leaflet come election time.
The sheep will be taken in, the sheep will be lead to the polling station, the sheep will vote for the same party and the cycle continues.
What a sad world local politics is…
We need facilities from Blackwood to risca. I won’t hold my breath though.
