Staff from Sainsbury’s Pontllanfraith have visited Libanus Primary School to find out how grant money from the supermarket has made a difference.
The supermarket donated £500 from its Welsh Community Fund, which distributes funds raised through the five pence carrier bag charge.
The school used the cash to buy two iPads and textile materials.
Sainsbury’s Ambassador Linda Korczynski visited to see how the fund had helped the school.
The school has also linked up with older members of the community to take part in a skill swap as part of the grant.
Ms Korczynski said: “Over a cup of coffee we intend to swap skills.
“The children will show the senior citizens how to use modern technology and the senior citizens will then show the children how to knit and crochet.
“In that way we will achieve a skill swap across the generations.”
