Haylemma Centre, a licensed riding school in Rhymney, held its second Annual Awards Night on Friday July 4 at Rhymney Rugby Club.

The centre offers a unique mix of horses, the great outdoors, professional tuition and personal support. The centre also promotes volunteering in the community and has a unique approach to teaching riding to beginners or those battling with a lack of confidence and offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at all times.

The awards were presented by Local County Councillor Carl Cuss to riders and volunteers in recognition of their achievements and commitment throughout the year.

Cllr Cuss, who represents the Twyn Carno Ward, said: “Once again I was honoured to be invited to present the trophies to the volunteers and riders of the centre who have all contributed to the success of Haylemma today.

“The Haylemma Centre opened in 2011 based at Pleasant View Farm, Llechryd in my ward and has progressed to be a well-established organisation where people from all over the county borough and elsewhere can come and take advantage of the facilities available at the centre. I believe it’s important we recognise the hard work and commitment of volunteers, which in some cases, services within the community would simply not exist without them.”

Jeanette Evans, an instructor at Haylemma Centre, said: “I am so proud of my volunteers and I am glad it was another successful awards night. The centre is a member of The Association of British Riding Schools and offer lessons to anyone over the age of four years and we offer confidencelLessons for beginners, children, and adults with a disability or learning difficulties.”
