A Caerphilly woman is attempting to cycle 100 miles around London in just nine hours to raise money for Guide Dogs Cymru.

Sarah Bowden, 54, will attempt the challenge on August 10 and started training last September after seeing an advert for the Prudential Ride London. She is hoping she has done enough training to complete the ride.

Sarah said: “My mid-life crisis saw me taking up triathlon when I was 50 and I really enjoyed the cycling, much more than the running.

“Cycling’s brilliant as if you go downhill you get something for nothing but I’m banking on the fact that London is fairly flat.

“I do flip between thinking that I’m going to be fine and thinking what am I doing.”

The self-employed Personal Assistant is hoping to raise at least £1,000 for charity Guide Dogs Cymru.
