Caerphilly ladies night raises cash for Macmillan Cancer Support

News | | Published: 15:00, Monday August 18th, 2014.

A local ladies night has raised more than £1,600 for the cancer charity Macmillan.

Claire Ashman, 32, from Caerphilly, along with her mum Susan Ashman, 53, organised the event to support local people affected by cancer.

Susan, who has recently received treatment for cancer and support from Macmillan, said: “This was a great opportunity to give something back to the charity that has supported me throughout my treatment.

“They have been absolutely brilliant, providing financial support and advice when I needed it most.”

Rebecca Parke, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, said: “We are so grateful for the hard work that Claire, Susan and all their friends and family put into the evening. We are almost entirely funded by donations so every penny raised really will make a huge difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer.’
