News | | Published: 15:00, Tuesday August 26th, 2014.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has launched a new mobile customer service centre.

The vehicle will visit a number of the county borough’s more rural towns and villages on a weekly basis, and will offer a wide range of council services including paying council tax, council rent, requesting a council housing repair and a host of others.

The mobile service centre visits the following towns and villages on a weekly basis

  • Tuesday: Deri Community Centre between 9.30am and 11pm and Rhymney, Rear of Rhymney Royal, between 2pm and 3.30pm.
  • Wednesday: Nelson, next to the bus station, between 9.15am and 10.45pm and Trinant, Trinant Terrace, between 2pm and 3.30pm.
  • Thursday: Ynysddu, High Street car park, between 9.30am and 11am and New Tredegar, rear of Duffryn Terrace, between 2.30pm and 4pm.
  • Friday: Ty-Sign, car park off Elm Drive, between 9.45am and 11.15am and Abertridwr, opposite YMCA, between 2pm and 3.30pm.
  • Weekly visits to Fochriw, Gelligaer, Pantside and Bedwas will also be built into the timetable over the coming weeks.

Cllr Barbara Jones, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, said: “Our main aim in delivering this new service is to ensure that our county borough’s residents have easy access to council services in a format which is preferable to them.
“By introducing this mobile customer service facility, we’re able to deliver key council services in the heart of many of our more rural communities, which I’m sure will be warmly welcomed by our residents”.
