New life has been breathed into a Bedwas nursery after a takeover of the premises.

Bedwas House Private Nursery, on Bedwas House Industrial Estate, was bought in July 2017 and has been reopened as Playworks Early Days Nursery.

The team behind the takeover of the nursery already run Playworks Childcare – a multiple childcare provider which organises and runs out of school childcare settings across South Wales.

The new venture is a 71-place nursery registered with The Care Inspectorate Wales (formally CSSIW) and can look after children aged from birth to 11 years.

It is open Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm 52 weeks of the year.

Manager Anne Marie said: “We’ve made a few changes to the nursery – work to the garden and we’ve refurbished.

“It is a great nursery to work with and parents will be pleasantly surprised with the changes we’ve made.”

The new nursery can provide local Flying Start care provision, to those who qualify, for two to three-year-olds between 9am and 11.30am. It can also provide full and part-day care for children and pick-up and drop-offs from school for full wraparound care.

Each day at Playworks Early Days Nursery has carefully planned activities and the nursery has a wide range of equipment and toys.

It follows the foundation phase framework and birth to three matters and records all of the children’s development.

Gemma, mum of 21-month-old Dylan said: “I would like to say how wonderful all the nursery staff are at Playworks Early Days Nursery.

“When you are a working parent it is really very important that your child enjoys the nursery that they attend and likes the people that are looking after him.

“Our son always goes into nursery with a smile on his face and when we pick him up he is still smiling. We are very happy with the improvements that have taken place in the nursery so far and are very happy that all the previous staff have remained. We couldn’t ask for nicer more caring staff to care for our son whilst at nursery.

“Every member of staff we come into contact with is always very approachable and friendly and there to help if needed. We always have a lovely chat with our son’s keyworker and find out what he has been doing during his day. It is so nice that the staff know him so well and he is very happy to be in their care.”

Playworks Early Days Nursery are fully supportive of the Welsh Government’s 30 hours Free Childcare offer for three to four-year-olds.
