15 dead domestic pigeons dumped in bag on Llanbradach allotment

News | | Published: 09:08, Thursday January 11th, 2018.

The bags the birds were dumped in

An appeal for information has been launched after 15 dead pigeons believed to be domestic were found dumped in a bag at an allotment in Llanbradach.

RSPCA Cymru was contacted after the bag containing the dead birds were found on Friday (5 January) at Wingfield allotments in Llanbradach.

RSPCA inspector Selina Griffiths said: “They all appeared to have had their necks cut and also had their legs cut off, which is likely to prevent being identified.

“It was a horrifying sight and must have been shocking and upsetting for the person who found them.

“They were found in a blue poultry feed bag which was itself inside a pigeon feed bag. It is suspected that they were dumped on Thursday or Friday.

“If anyone knows anything about these birds, please can they contact the RSPCA’s appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”
