The Moat House Inn in Caerphilly has reopened its doors after a six-figure refurbishment.

The newly-transformed pub on Lon-y-Llyn, near Western Industrial Estate, welcomed back customers on Tuesday, January 22.

Following Marston’s acquisition of the Moat House, the company has provided a heavy investment, giving the pub a much-needed breath of fresh air.

A brand-new, contemporary style bar area now showcases the pub’s vast drink selection, including Marston’s cask ales, allowing customers to drink in style.

But pub-goers can still enjoy the traditional comforts of a local pub, with lounge and snug areas maintaining a cosy feel.

An additional make over took place outside of the pub, changing and restyling the beer garden to help restore the Moat House Inn to be a place locals can be proud of.

And while the modern features give the Moat House a fresh look, traditional aspects are still celebrated throughout, allowing the pub to appeal to all.

Pub management invited Caerphilly AM Hefin David to re-open the pub following the refurbishment.

Mr David said: “I’d like to thank the management of the Moat House for asking me to re-open the pub after their refurbishment. The Moat House has undergone a wonderful transformation and I hope that many of its customers will be impressed by the investment that’s gone into upgrade this well-known Caerphilly pub.”

Serving food seven days a week, the Moat House Inn will offer a new and refreshed menu, which includes improved offers on drinks.

Pub manager Anthony Kear said: “Our pub looks great and feels so fresh, we are definitely impressed. Everybody is welcome to come down and have a look around our new decor.”

Jo Rogers of Marston’s Inns and Taverns said: “The Moat House Inn has been un-invested for quite some time, so the difference now is fantastic. We have taken care to restore the pub and we hope everyone enjoys the result as much as we do.”
