Caerphilly-born Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has officially joined Italian champions Juventus.

Ramsey, 28, signed a pre-contract agreement with the Serie A side in February and officially became a Juventus player on Monday, July 1.

It is reported that Ramsey will earn more than £400,000 a week at the Turin-based club, making him the highest-paid British player of all time.

Ramsey leaves Arsenal after 11 years at the club, making 371 appearances and scoring 65 goals.

During his time with the Gunners, he lifted the FA Cup three times, scoring the winning goals in the 2014 and 2017 finals.

The Wales international played his last game for the club in April, suffering a hamstring injury in the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Italian side Napoli.

A tearful Ramsey then addressed Arsenal supporters at their final home game of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion, thanking them for their support during his time at the North London club.

The move means the player will compete in the Champions League with Juventus this upcoming season, while Arsenal’s Europa League final defeat to Chelsea denies them a place in Europe’s biggest competition.

Ramsey will link up with some of the biggest names in world football at his new club, including Argentine attacker Paulo Dybala, Italy centre-back Giorgio Chiellini and Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, formerly of Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Ronaldo won the European Championships in 2016 with Portugal, scoring in his country’s semi-final win against Wales.

Ramsey, who starred in Wales’ historic European campaign three years ago, missed the semi-final clash with suspension.

Ramsey has won 58 caps for Wales and has scored 14 goals.

However, he could face competition for a starting spot at Juventus after they completed the free transfer of France midfielder Adrien Rabiot from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
